Bubby’s Pie Social
This past weekend we attended the Bubby’s Pie Social. Bubby’s Pie Social ran in conjunction with the DUMBO Arts Festival and featured a wide range of activities and events for young and old. Bubby’s started it’s Pie Social four years ago when it opened Bubby’s DUMBO. The Pie Social raises money for NYC Public Schools and over 100 bakers participated this year. Bakers of every age and experience level participated and there were lots of great pies to be found. Not only were there the standards (Apple, Cherry, Pumpkin) but a few experimental bakers made savory pies. My Favorite, baked by Bubby’s chef/owner Ron Crismon, Green Tomato with Blue Cheese. In addition to enjoying some great pies, we were treated to a PERFECT DAY on the waterfront, spectacular views of Manhattan, an elephant that paints, and a cast of characters. Of course! we brought out camera along.
